Wenn auch knapp, so habe ich es auch diesen Monat geschafft einen Blogbeitrag zu veröffentlichen. Dieses Mal habe ich mit einem mir unbekannten Garn gearbeitet, Scheepjes Stardust. Das Garn hat Farbverläufe, wie Scheepjes Whirl, jedoch auch ein Glitzereffekt. Hier wurde Metalic Polyester verarbeitet.

Zuerst wusste ich nicht so recht was ich mit diesem Garn anfangen sollte, ich hatte nur ein Knäuel und wollte auch kein weiteres kaufen. Ich habe daher auf der Scheepjes-Webseite, als auch bei Ravelry gestöbert und bin auf die Anleitung Syncopated Stardust Cowl von Sarah Knight gestoßen.

Für mich ist stricken noch ungewohnt und ich muss öfters mal nachlesen wie ich die einzelnen Maschen arbeite, aber diese Anleitung hat auch keine komplizierten Techniken. Fürs stricken empfand ich das Garn nicht so gut, durch das Metalic Polyester sind meine Finger wund geworden und auch die Struktur fand ich nicht gut.

Das Resultat lässt sich sehen lassen, jedoch hatte ich keine Möglichkeit die Picot-Abkettung zu machen, da ich nicht genügen Garn über hatte. Meine Abkettung ist jedoch zu starr und daher ist es mir schon auseinander gerissen. Ich werde wohl oder übel bis zum dunklen Türkis aufribbeln und dann die Picot-Abkettung versuchen.

Even if only slightly, I managed to publish a blog post this month. This time I worked with a yarn unknown to me, Scheepjes Stardust. The yarn has gradients, like Scheepje’s whirl, but also a glitter effect. Metalic polyester was used for this.

At first I didn’t really know what to do with this yarn, I only had one ball and didn’t want to buy another one. So I browsed the Scheepjes website, as well as Ravelry and came across the Syncopated Stardust Cowl pattern by Sarah Knight.

For me, knitting is still unfamiliar and I often have to read how I work the individual stitches, but these pattern did not have any complicated techniques. I didn’t like the yarn for knitting, my fingers got sore due to the metallic polyester and I didn’t like the structure either.

The result is impressive, but I didn’t have the opportunity to do the Picot bind off because I didn’t have enough yarn left. However, my bind off is too rigid and therefore it is already torn apart. For better or worse, I will frogg it till the dark turquoise and then try the Picot bind off.
