Softshell Jacke/jacket Dino

Anfang dieses Jahrs habe ich bei Stoff und Schnitt (Stoffladen in Benrath, Düsseldorf) den Dino Softshell Stoff gekauft, tatsächlich wusste ich zu der Zeit nicht was ich damit machen sollte. Es war ein Reststück und ich hatte keine Nähmaschine zu diesem Zeitpunkt.

Christiane Lott-Haupstock, Inhaberin von Stoff und Schnitt, hatte mir empfohlen eine Matschhose daraus zu nähen, aber irgendwie konnte ich mich nicht mit dem Gedanken anfreunden die Dinos dreckig zu sehen. Also ein Kleinkind schafft sowas schon recht schnell.

Ich suchte daher weiter nach Anleitungen und bin auf „Schnabelinas Softshelljacke“ gestoßen, die Softshelljacke gefiel mir gut und ich dachte, dass mache ich. Da ich nur ein Reststückstoff hatte, brauchte ich noch ein passenden Softshell Stoff und Futterstoff in Petrol. Zur besseren Sichtbarkeit habe ich noch Reflektor Band gekauft.

Das Zuschneiden des Stoffes verlief ganz gut, jedoch habe ich ein paar Änderungen an der Jackentasche durchgeführt, wodurch ich ein wenig tricksen musste. Reißverschlusstaschen für Kleinkinder fand ich nur zu aufwändig, bzw. die Tasche nicht zu verschließen unpraktisch. Ich sage nur dazu „Hallo Sandkasten, was machst du in den Jackentaschen?“.

Das erste Teil was ich fertig hatte, war die Mütze und ich freue mich sehr, dass ich es geschafft habe, die Dinos so zuzuschneiden, dass diese optisch gut sichtbar sind. Mein Plan nach jedem Schritt ein Foto zu machen, war schnell hinfällig, da ich mit so vielen kleinen Problemen konfrontiert war, dass ich zwischenzeitlich nur froh war, wenn die Jacke fertig ist. Aber das Resultat ist optisch ein Knaller und kaum jemand stellt fest, dass diese Jacke selbstgemacht ist.

Christiane Lott-Haupstock, owner of Stoff und Schnitt, had recommended me to sew a mud pants from it, but somehow I could not make friends with the thought of seeing the dinosaurs dirty. So a toddler can do something like that quite quickly.

So I kept looking for instructions and came across „Schnabelina’s softshell jacket“, I liked the softshell jacket and I thought I would do that. Since I only had one remnant, I still needed a suitable softshell fabric and lining in petrol. For better visibility I bought reflector tape.

The cutting of the fabric went quite well, but I made a few changes to the jacket pocket, which made me have to do a little trickery. I found zippered pockets for toddlers only too complex, or not to close the pocket impractical. I just say „Hello sandbox, what are you doing in the pockets?“.

The first part I finished was the cap and I am very happy that I managed to cut the dinosaurs so that they are visually visible. My plan to take a photo after every step quickly became obsolete, as I was confronted with so many small problems that in the meantime I was only happy when the jacket was ready. But the result is visually a blast and hardly anyone notices that this jacket is homemade.
