Wenn ich mich so recht erinnere ist die Badeente die erste Anleitung die ich von Scheepjes „YARN – The After Party“ nachgearbeitet habe. Wie es so meistens ist, hält man sich beim ersten Mal immer an die Angaben und Reihenfolge wie es in der Anleitung beschrieben wurde.

Die Badeente habe ich aber schon so oft gehäkelt, dass ich hier ein paar Tipps und Tricks mitgeben kann.

Es empfiehlt sich, zuerst die kleineren Teile zu häkeln, heißt Kopf, Flügel, Schnabel, Badekappe/-band und dann erst den Körper. Auch sollte man die Augen frühzeitig fest machen, bevor man den Kopf an den Körper fest näht, sonst wird es schwierig und unschön. Dir Badekappe sollte man eine halbe Nadelstärke größer häkeln, sonst sitzt die Kappe zu eng auf den Kopf.

Den Anfang des Körpers kann man wie beschrieben machen oder man kann eine „Foundation Cord“ häkeln. Diese Technik habe ich beim „Lili Mosaic Tasche/Bag“ kennen und ich muss zugeben lieben gelernt. If I remember correctly, the bathing duck is the first pattern I reworked from Scheepje’s „YARN – The After Party“. As is usually the case, the first time you always stick to the information and order as described in the pattern.

But I have crocheted the bathing duck so many times that I can give a few tips and tricks here.

It is advisable to crochet the smaller parts first, i.e. head, wings, beak, bathing cap/ribbon and then the body. You should also apply the eyes early before sewing the head to the body, otherwise it will be difficult and unattractive. You should crochet your swimming cap half a needle size larger, otherwise the cap sits too tightly on the head.

The beginning of the body can be made as described or you can crochet a „foundation cord“. I got to know this technique with the „Lili Mosaic Tasche/Bag“ and I have to admit that I love it.
